Positive Negative

Tata Nano is fit for long drives. You can accelerate the way you want. I took it to Narkanda from Delhi (over 400kms) in one go covering all highways in between.

Is it? Amazing. I want to know whether I can take Nano from Chennai to Bangalore with 4 persons?

    • Pspaul61

You can. Not just four but five as well. Highway driving on Nano is any day better than Maruthi 800 as Nano has overdrive gear (4th). Even its A/C works read good. So go for it.

No, you need to buy a Ferrari and have two of the occupants ride on the rear spoiler(wing).  Apply sunblock liberally before beginning and provide them with ample refreshments. Pick the best looking girl out of the group and have her sit up front with you.  Instruct her to massage your thigh while driving to enhance the motoring experience. Hope this helps…

Bangalore to Mumbai by Tata Nano

Total Dist. Covered – 1037 kms in 24 hrs.

Bangalore to Pune in 13 hrs. almost nonstop. Took a halt in Pune for around 6 hrs.

Total fuel cost was around Rs. 3500 /-.

I really thank Mr. Ratan Tata for making this Smart Car for Smart People.

Definitely Tata Nano is amazing for long distance travel. Throughout the journey I have been driving at 90-110 and the journey was very comfortable.

My wife has shifted to Pune for a job in Infosys and thought of giving her the car for local travel.

I was little bit skeptical taking Tata Nano for such a long distance but did not get much time to think over and the day has arrived.

By luck my very old friend, Raktim had come to Bangalore for an interview on 2nd November and he was ready to join me. So, we made a plan to start on the same day after his interview and my office hours.

At 7:30 pm we started from Bangalore. Car was fully loaded with hose hold stuff and clothing.

The movement was very stable and was driving at 90-100 almost at all times and Reached Tumkur Toll Plaza at 8:50 pm. We both were too hungry so we stopped for dinner somewhere around 9:15 pm. There we took around 45 mins break and again started off at 10 pm.

By around 11:45 pm we reached Hebbalu Toll Plaza where we took a Smoke Break for around 10 mins. The fuel tank was also to be filled up and I was also looking for a night halt as I prefer not to drive at night. We stopped at a petrol pump on the highway and filled up the tank and took a Smoke Break. It was already around 12 am and I was telling Raktim to stop for a night halt otherwise it will be difficult to get any accommodation and we can again hit the road at 6:00 am. In the mean time I called my wife and found that she was not able to board the bus for Mumbai from Pune as Atm pin I gave her did not work and the card got blocked. She was helpless. So there was a twist in the plan and we thought to continue our driving. I gave the car key to Raktim and we hit the road. We crossed Chalageri Toll Plaza at around 12:42 then after Davanagere we stopped for 10 mins for a smoke break, then Hubli and Dharwad went by and he drove around 250 kms.

As it was raining and little bit of ghat section we stopped for a smoke and I took the steering at aound 4:30 am. We just crossed Belgaom and from there Panjim (Goa) was just 120 kms at our left. It was raining heavily and stopped at the petrol pump to fill up the tank and again hit the road and found Raktim asleep. I drove for an hour I was also too much exhaust and we were 270 kms away from Pune.

It was around 5:30 am, asked Raktim that I needed a power nap. I opend my eyes and it was 6:10 am. Again we hit the road hard this time and reached Pune at 10:30 am.

Then I went to Wakkad and then some garden and then to hengewadi. Unloaded my car and again there was a twist in the plan and we hit pune to Mumbai with Nano at 5:30 pm. We reached Mumbai at 7:30 pm via expressway.

This was not the first long drive I coverd with my Nano. Last time we went to Wayanad, Bandipur and Mudumallai covering 950 kms in 3 days

AWESOME! Makes me a proud owner of my Nano. Thanks Mr. Ratan Tata.

There are a lot of other misguided people out there who need to be educated and I try to do that to the best of my ability.
