Post the 2012 Union Budget, the announcement regarding hike in excise duties now sees Audi increase prices of their model range in Indi.  Prices of Audi models that come to India as Fully Built units will see an increase of 13% to 14%. This impacts prices of the Audi A7, A8 and RS5. Audi A7 Sportback will now cost Rs.66.04,000 while the Audi RS5 will come for a price of Rs.85,95,000 onwards.

Prices of those models manufactured within the country will attract an increase in prices by 3.4% to 3.7%. The Audi A4 now bears a price tag of Rs 30,60,000 (Ex-Delhi). Besides the increase in excise and customs duties, the entire pricing strategy is in for a change Audi has set a target of selling 7500 to 8000 vehicles by end of 2012.

Though the company has increased prices, they are still hopeful of reaching targets thanks to reduction in interest rates by Reserve Bank of India besides an affinity being shown by customers to upgrade and then there’s the Audi Q3. Globally, during first two months of 2012, Audi sales reached 202,700 units and it is the first time that Audi has exceeded 200,000 mark in just two months.
