Bajaj Auto grant of Rs 4.5 crores to College of Engineering Pune (COEP)
Furthering their corporate social responsibilities, two wheeler majors, Bajaj Auto Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with College of Engineering, Pune. Bajaj Auto will be donating an amount of INR 4.5 crores towards modernization and renovation of mechanical engineering department building.
The MoU involves phased modernization of interiors of the building while exteriors will remain untouched due to its heritage structure. The agreement was signed in the presence of Rahul Bajaj with Pratap Pawar and other faculty members being present while a cheque of INR 50 lakhs was presented by Sanjiv Bajaj to Pawar.
Mechanical Engineering is the largest department of CoEP and comprises of a three storied building. Renovation work will see refurbishment of Heat Engine labs, seminar halls, etc. The two sons of Rahul Bajaj have studied at CoEP, completing their Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering which has paid rich rewards in their lives.
Bajaj Auto the biggest exporter of bikes gears up for launch of the new Discover 150cc and are confident that this launch will allow the company to regain some of lost volumes in this segment. Discover 150cc is targeted at customers who want to upgrade from a 100cc and 125cc. Discover 150 comes boasting of a 144 cc engine capable of producing around 14 horsepower at 7,500 rpm and 12.74 Nm at 5,500 rpm.
