Bajaj launches Pulsar, Discover and Boxer in Ghana
Bajaj Auto has entered into an alliance with Somoco, a local Ghanian company to establish themselves in Ghana. With an already established network in Africa, India’s leading two wheeler manufacturer has now set foot in Ghana, where annual motorcycle sales currently stand at 100,000 units.
Somoco, a subsidiary of Mohanani Group is a family business in various sectors with over 3000 employees and a variety of products. The company is well versed in manufacture, packing, plastics besides chemicals, polymers and consumer durables and now enters the two wheeler market along with support from Bajaj Auto, reveals Business Standard.
During the past year, Bajaj Auto sold over 600,000 units across Africa and it is this demand that instigated the company to expand base. Bajaj Boxer was seen as a crowd puller in Ghana propelling the company to sixth position among top ten two wheeler companies in Africa. Bajaj Auto Boxer has seen equal demand in Nigeria, Uganda, Angola and Kenya while Bajaj Auto guarantees efficient and timely service and easy availability of spare parts.
