Datsun to launch their first car for India later this year
Datsun, the new-and-revived brand from Nissan, is set to launch its first car in India later this year. This new car will be a hatchback, which will be based on Nissan Micra. Yes it will be priced cheaper than Micra, but Datsun says, quality will not be compromised.
At the ongoing Geneva Motor Show, the news about Datsun’s first car for India was revealed.
Speaking to Shiro Nakamura, The Hindu Business Line reports, that the Datsun hatchback for India will not look or feel cheap. It will emit modernity and longevity, which is the direction of the Datsun brand. The first phase of Datsun India will see launch of two small cars in India, consecutively. The first car will be cheaper than Micra, and will be priced under 4 lakhs. While the second will be expensive than Micra. Both these cars are being developed in India at Renault-Nissan faclility.
Other than India, Datsun will be launching affordable cars in the markets of Russia, South Africa, and Indonesia.
