Developing Datsun Go for India, launch this week
After first being shown in July 2013, Datsun Go has been on an all India journey to ensure more people are aware of the brand and its first small car offering. Datsun Go was also exhibited at Delhi Auto Expo last month in its full line-up of body colours, blue, white, silver and red.
Datsun Go gets power from a lightweight 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine for improved fuel efficiency at 20.6 kmpl. Production at the Renault Nissan Alliance plant at Oragadam, near Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India in the beginning of February. Deliveries to customers will begin on March 19th, launch day.
Datsun Go will be offered in an interesting choice of features so customers can personalize their cars. Datsun accessories include spoilers, body side moldings and alloy wheels, to fog lamps, exhaust finishers, LED kick plate, glowing logo emblem and more. Interior personalization items include seat covers, floor carpet mats and mood lights. Datsun GO will be offered with two year unlimited warranty.
Datsun Go+ seven-seater is announced as the 2nd car for India. The light-weight vehicle drives a 1.2L engine and 5-speed manual transmission, tuned for fuel efficiency and acceleration. Datsun GO+ will be produced at the Alliance factory in Oragadam, Chennai. Production and sales will begin in the second half of 2014.
At last month’s Delhi Auto Expo, Datsun redi-GO concept too was shown. Datsun will show its 1st car for Russia in April.
