Nissan has presented Usain Bolt, the fastest man in the world, with a unique gold painted GT-R. This gold exterior GT-R is offered to Bolt at a presentation ceremony that took place on May 5, 2013 in Jamaica where Bolt has his home training facility. The vehicle was handed over by Jose Román, Vice President of Nissan Latin America and Caribbean. Bolt is at present the only owner of one of only two such ‘Bolt Gold’ GT-R’s.
The second gold Nissan GT-R will be presented to a charity auction winner who will take possession of his gold colored GT-R by summer of 2013. Bolt is already the owner of a Black GT-R and he arrived at the handing over ceremony in this black GT-R and left in a gold colored one. Bolt has been synonymous with the brand and has been associated with Nissan Global Brand Campaign which commenced in April 2012. Earlier the Bolt-Gold GT-R was up for auction with all proceeds going to the Usain Bolt Foundation.
The gold colored GT-R presented to Bolt is based on the 2013 model year vehicle. It has been specially customized taking into consideration Bolt’s driving style as per data received from Nissan engineers when Bold took a test drive in the GT-R on his visit to the company plant in October 2012. The vehicle sports white interiors with BOSE audio system and 10 spoke RAYS aluminum alloy wheels. On its exteriors is a distinctive Spec Bolt emblem with all exterior and interior color combinations specifically selected by Bolt himself.
