Harley Davidson names new bikes Street 500 and Street 750?
American motorcycle manufacturer, Harley Davidson is expected to unveil new motorcycles at the 2013 EICMA in Milan. To open for press from across the globe tomorrow, and thereafter for public from 7th Nov, EICMA is the biggest auto expo for two wheelers.
Both motorcycles will feature a V-Twin engine with manual transmission in the one down rest up format. The Street 500 will feature a 500 cc engine that will deliver 43 hp while the 750 cc will deliver 53 hp. As far as top speed is concerned, the Street 500 is expected to have a top speed of 135 kmph and the Street 750 will have a top speed of 150 kmph. Street 750 will feature MRF tyres, 90/90 x 17 in the front and 140/60 x 17 at rear. Braking will be taken care by disc brakes on the front and rear of both bikes.
The good news for Harley Davidson lovers in India, is that these bikes will be launched in India with high localized content. What this will do, is that bring the price of the motorcycle down and open up the exclusive premium motorcycle segment to a range of new buyers. Not only the Street 500 and Street 750 will be made at Harley Davidson plant in Haryana, it will also be exported to other South East Asian markets from here.
