Honda Vietnam rolls out 15 millionth MC unit (Air Blade)
It was a double celebration at Honda Vietnam. On March 20, 2014, Honda Vietnam inaugurated its new Piston Workshop while on 21st March the company produced its 15 millionth motorcycle manufactured from its Vietnam plant.
The new Piston Workshop inaugurated in Vietnam will go a long way to enhance localization which in turn will help the company create new products at competitive prices besides assist in various export operations. The new Piston Workshop is spread over an area of 3000 sq meters and comes in with an investment of VND 230 billion. It has been designed for peak capacity of 2.4 million units per annum.
The 15 millionth unit produced at the Honda Vietnam plant and welcomed in with much fanfare is an Air Blade. Air Blade first made its presence felt in Vietnam in April 2007 and has since then shot to fame, becoming a best seller among Vietnams biking aficionados.
In the past seven years the company has sold over 2 million units of Air Blade. The Air Blade is powered by a 125cc 4 stroke single cylinder engine. It possesses an integrated ACG system, combined brake system, remote response key and side stand switch. Sitting on tubeless tyres, Air Blade offers enhanced storage space under its seat and comes with double locking system for added safety. It is priced at 49228053.29 Vietnamese Dong.
