Hyundai Azera facelift and AG sedan showcased in Busan
The 10-day Busan International Motor Show kicked off as it opened to the public on Friday. To be held from May 29 to June 8 under the theme of “Ocean of Vehicles, Feeding the World”, the motor show saw a number of new production and concept cars on display at the new BEXO venue.
Apart from bringing their new cars at the Busan Motor Show 2014, Hyundai has also announced two world premieres – one is that of Grandeur facelift (also known as Azera in the US) and the second is of a completely new sedan, codenamed AG as of now.
Compared to the existing Grandeur, this one is 10 mm longer and features a new diesel engine options, along with the existing petrol motor. Compliant with Euro VI emission norms, the new diesel motor is in the form of 2.2l VGT generating 202 PS power and 441 Nm torque. Speaking about the petrol engine, though it is the same 2.4L Theta II GDI, Hyundai says that in the Azera facelift it will be more responsive as it has been tuned. Power output is at 190 PS and 241 Nm
Hyundai Azera facelift comes with a host of safety features such as blind spot detection, lane departure warning and advanced smart parking assist while its infotainment system consists of an 8” display.
Speaking about the Hyundai AG sedan, it features innovative new exterior design. It shares the same platform as the Grandeur but dimensions are augmented to the same lines of the Genesis. No details of engine size or other details were revealed which the company states will be disclosed prior to launch later this year.
