Jaguar F Type debuts at Lord Mayor’s Show in London

The new Jaguar F Type was presented in front of a 500,000 strong audience at this year’s Lord Mayor’s Show in London. Driven by Jessica Ennis, Sports Ambassador at the Jaguar Academy, and Britain’s heptathlon golden girl, the vehicle was accompanied at its presentation by two very famous E Type Jaguars. One of these was Chassis No 4 1600 RW which was fourth E Type to be produced and first to be sold to a customer while the other with Chassis No.24 is also called Daily Mail and was one of the prizes for a newspaper competition way back in 1961.

Jaguar F Type was earlier unveiled at the 2012 Paris Motor Show held in September this year while sales are expected to commence from Summer of 2013. Jaguar F Type will be launched in three variants – F Type, F Type S and F Type V8S each of which will be distinguished from the other due to power output while all variants will feature start/stop technology and high level of efficiency

F Type and F Type S will be powered by a 3.0 liter V6 engine while the F Type V8S will have a supercharged 5.0 liter V8 engine producing 488 bhp and 625 Nm torque with prices ranging from £58,500 to £67,500 for the F Type S and the top end variant priced at £79,950.
