South Korea’s 2nd largest car maker, Kia Motors has announced to recall 70,000 units of their Optima sedans because of incorrect installation of shift cable.

Due to these defects, Kia Optima sedans, which were manufactured between 2006 and 2008 can roll away even when in park mode. NHTSA, a US Government organization that keeps a check on manufacturing defects, was the first to serve Kia Motors a notice on the matter.

A total of 70,015 units will be recalled by Kia. No injuries of accidents have been reported due to this defect.
