Each of these will go a long way in allowing continuous lowering with German TÜV tested adjustment range of 25 to 55 mm at the front and 35 to 60 mm at the rear axle which in turn will result in better driving pleasure, on tract stability and all round enhanced performance.
Coilover variant 3 will offer suspension similar to that seen in motor sports while the KW coilover kit for Variant 1 will have a factory setting with a sporty setup. Variant 2 offers adjustment of rebound damping as is seen in Variant 3.
Where individual lowering is concerned KW coilover suspensions are all made at stainless steel strut through the KW trapezoidal thread. Lowering with this German technology is has proved successful in the BMW 1 Series while put to the test on an adjustment range of 25 to 55mm. Fichtenberg (Germany), August 5th 2013 – BMW also offers the BMW 1-series models (F20, F21) with the all-wheel drive system BMW xDrive. For the “4×4 compact sport cars” from Munich we now have KW coilovers Variant 1, Variant 2 and Variant 3 in stainless steel available. All three Variants allow a continuous lowering within a German TÜV tested adjustment range of 25 to 55 mm at the front and 35 to 60 mm at the rear axle. A performance tool for the road is the KW coilover kit Variant 3, similar to suspensions in motor sport, the Variant 3 can be adjusted separately with a few steps individually and separately in rebound and compression. The KW coilover kit Variant 1 has a factory-set damping with a sporty harmonic setup. The KW coilovers Variant 2 allow adjusting the rebound damping, just like the Variant 3 kits.
Already in its basic setup, the KW coilovers Variant 1, Variant 2 and Variant 3 increase the famous steering precision and tracking stability of the latest BMW 1-series models with xDrive (F20, F21). While the KW coilover kit Variant 1 has a factory-set damping setup, Variant 2 and Variant 3 can be adjusted individually in their damping characteristics within a few minutes. If a BMW 1-series driver for example changes the approved wheel- / tire combinations to larger wheels, this can be considered via the rebound damping. With an integrated rebound damping adjustment with 16 precise clicks, the KW coilovers Variant 2 also allow to influent the handling and comfort of the 1-series with BMW xDrive. Even more individual setup options are offered by the KW coilovers Variant 3. “The separate damping force adjustment in compression and rebound is similar to our racing damper technology.” says Johannes Wacker about the adjustment possibilities of the coilover kit. In addition to handling and comfort, the Variant 3 can take influence on potential rolling motions of the body with the separately adjustable compression damping in twelve clicks. Therefore, the BMW xDrive models equipped with a KW coilover kit Variant 3 can be driven even more direct and safe in the threshold.
The continuous lowering of all KW coilover suspensions is made directly at the stainless steel strut via the dirt-resistant KW trapezoid thread. “The times when lowering by a coilover kit meant being hard and uncomfortable, never applied to our developments,” said KW Product Manager Johannes Wacker. At the front, the xDrive versions of the BMW 1-series can be lowered within the German TÜV tested adjustment range by 25 to 55 mm. On the rear axle, the adjustment of the desired vehicle height has to be made at the rear-axle height adjustment, within the TÜV approved range of ??35 to 60 mm. All three KW coilovers are manufactured from a stainless steel alloy.
