295cc engine fastened to Mahindra Mojo is a four stroke single cylinder unit that is liquid cooled and equipped with Dual Over Head Camshaft (DOHC). Maximum power produced is 27 bhp @ 8,000 rpm and peak torque of 25 Nm is achieved at 6,500 rpm. A 6 speed transmission does duty coupled to Mojo’s engine, transmitting power to wheel via chain drive. Mojo features segment first twin exhaust positioned on either side of rear wheel.
Overall appeal of Mojo is reminiscent of Suzuki Inazuma, chiefly due to riding position it provides. Mahindra would market Mojo as a sports cruiser; it was spotted earlier doing 150 kmph swiftly.
Features wise also Mojo would pose a threat to competitors, as the Indian automaker has offered some first in segment features in Centuro, raising hopes on that front. Centuro equipped remote key fob with LED torch, guide me home lamps, find me lamps, engine immobiliser and anti-theft alarm. It is also believed that Mahindra’s new 110cc scooter codenamed G101 would come with such new features in its segment.
