Mahindra Reva e2o bags 2013 CII Design Excellence Award

Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles Pvt. Ltd., of the Mahindra Group was awarded the CII Design Excellence awards for their outstanding design seen on board the Mahindra e2o. CII Design Excellence Awards were initiated in 2011 in a bid to establish design as a tool for national competitiveness.


The award draws attention to the value of design and its importance in the Indian industry and is given in acknowledgement of aptitude and proficiency in design, innovation and originality.

Mahindra’s e2o, two door with four adult capacity is larger and wider than the Reva and possesses the most upto date machinery. Manufactured at the company plant in the outskirts of Bangalore, the model sports a lithium ion battery that can power the model for 100 kms on a single charge while it goes down to 85 km when driving with the air conditioning on. The company has also installed Fast Charge stations in Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai which enable charge of the battery in an hour. The lithium ion battery powers a DC motor and possesses power output of 25.4 bhp and 55 Nm torque while top speed is at 80 kmph.
