UPDATE: Mahindra SsangYong Korando Turismo 11 seater MPV ready for 2013 Geneva Motor Show
SsangYong has released a new video which shows what to expect from their new 11 seater SUV, Korando Turismo. Anand Mahindra tweeted about the prospects of the new MPV for India. It is scheduled for a premiere at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
The current version of Korando SUV, though massive in size and outstanding in performance, has been termed as one of the ugliest cars in production. Sold in Australian markers in its current incarnation as the Stavic, Korando has been designed by Ken Greenley, former head of automotive design course at Royal College of Art in London. This is one of the most renowned automotive design schools and hence the astonishment at this vehicle being labeled as one of the ugliest.
2014 Korando Turismo MPV sales will commence by 3rd quarter 2013, in the markets where it is already present. The new 2014 Korando will be robust in appearance and will sport premium features and offer excellent outdoor and off-road capabilities.
Korando is also known as Rodius in many markets. 2014 Korando will be fitted with a new radiator grille and headlamps which will be seen on its exterior while interiors will be updated to include all the comforts and values suited to ensure the Rodius is ideal for long distance travel. Where its engine details are concerned, SsangYong has confirmed that the 2014 Rodius will be offered in a choice of a 2.0 liter diesel and 3.2 liter petrol engines.
UPDATE: Anand Mahindra, Chairman and MD, Mahindra & Mahindra, tweeted last night that the 11 seater will premier at the Paris Motor Show, which just like the Delhi Auto Expo, happens once in two years. Next Paris Motor Show is not due until Sep/Oct 2014, so why tweet about it now. Solving the mystery, Anand tweeted earlier this morning that he had made a mistake. He meant the Korando 11 seater to be revealed at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
