Showcased at 2014 Auto Expo in its concept avatar, the Ciaz will sport a number of interior features borrowed from the existing SX4 and Ertiga. Apart from this, the premium features on offer will include keyless entry, push button start, leather seats and 15” alloy wheels. The biggest of these all is an option of AMT, reveals Overdrive.
Ciaz will share engine specifications with the same, which will include a 1.4 liter K series petrol engine and 1.3 liter VGT Multijet turbo diesel engine. Just like other Maruti cars, the production variant Ciaz will be offered in three trim levels, to include L, V and Z trims. Maruti has bench-marked Hyundai Verna, which is the segment leader, for their Ciaz sedan production variant.
Also to be seen on board the new Ciaz will be rear AC vents, audio controls, electronically folding mirrors and factory fitted music system with Bluetooth and multimedia functions. Maruti will also offer safety features to include ABS, EBD and two airbags as standard for the top end variants, while expected prices could vary between INR 8-12 lakhs. Once launched the Ciaz sedan will compete with the likes of Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Vento, Renault Scala and others.
