Maruti Suzuki most considered automaker in India for 9th consecutive year
2013 India Escaped Shopper Study is based on 8,687 buyer responses, with 3,271 rejecters of new cars and new utility vehicles of those who bought their vehicle between September 2012 and April 2013. The study examines reasons why ‘new-vehicle shoppers consider but ultimately reject certain models in favor of another’ was fielded from March through July 2013.
Overall customer retention improved by 2% to 40% in 2013. In 2013, only 3 of the 8 brands included in the study had an improved customer retention rate from 2012. Mahindra and Maruti Suzuki have particularly high customer retention rates among automotive brands in India. This is based on brand image, product range, ownership experience and sustained presence in India among other parameters.
