2.5 million Maruti Suzuki K-series engines and counting
Maruti Suzuki’s K-series engine lineup has crossed the 25 lakh (2.5 million) production milestone this August. K-series engines power Alto K10, Celerio, Wagon R, Swift, Dzire, Ertiga and Ritz through a compact light weight, fuel efficient, next gen gasoline engine tech in India.
He added, Maruti makes an ongoing effort towards engine refinement so new models incorporate techn that furthers fuel efficiency, low emissions, improved performance and NVH. K-series Indian journey began in 2008 with A-star. Thereafter, it has made its way to other car segments.
Rajiv Gandhi, Executive Director, (Plants), Maruti Suzuki stressed on K-series engines being made in state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities with over 500 foolproofing stations to ensure top quality, 0 defect engines.
Based on longterm R&D efforts, K-series engines are refined year on year on refreshed and new product launches to improve driveability and fuel efficiency each passing year.
