Mercedes-Benz India S-Class local assembly begins, price Rs 1.36 Crore ex-showroom Mumbai
Mercedes-Benz India has begun local production of the new S-Class at its manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune. The ‘Year of Excellence’ embodies yet another strong development here that will help cater to increasing S-Class demand, and at present has a waiting period of about 3 months.

Mercedes Benz had announced S-Clss local production here soon at the beginning of 2014 itself. With local assembly for more cars, Mercedes-Benz India made investments at their Pune plant to enable the company to augment production substantially. Annual production capacity is being increased to 20,000 units for 2014. The recently launched S Class has saw all 125 units allotted to India already sold at the time of launch.
German premium automakers launched the new-gen S-Class luxury sedan in India at a retail price of Rs 1.57 crores (ex sh Delhi) in January as via the Completely Built Up Unit route. S 500 is now available at a price of Rs 1.36 Crore ex-showroom Mumbai.
