Mercedes Benz India Young Star Driver Programme Season II results
Final Round of Mercedes Benz India¬†Young Star Driver Programme Season II took place at Buddh International Circuit, Greater Noida today in which 6 finalists from across the country participated.
G Vikash Anand from Chennai, Ali Yawar Hayat from Bangalore, Alisha Abdullah from Chennai, Chetan Karada from Chennai, S. Raj Bharath from Bangalore and Advait Deodhar from Mumbai are the six finalists who drove Mercedes Benz C220 at Buddh International Circuit yesterday for qualifying round.
Of them, S. Raj Bharath from Bangalore emerged as winner of Young Star Driver Programme Season II followed by G Vikash Anand from Chennai. Second runner up was Ali Yawar Hayat from Bangalore. Winner will get Pro Training at AMG Academy in Germany, and a chance to spend time with Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg at upcoming Singapore Grand Prix of 2014 Formula One. Runner up will get advanced training at Buddh International Circuit while second runner up will be given basic training there.
Mercedes Benz India received 5970 applications from over 100 cities in India. Youngsters from metros like Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad and Pune applied for Young Star Driver Programme Season 2. Enthusiasts from non-metro cities and small towns like Indore, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Udaipur, Jabalpur, Nashik, Nellore, Thrissur, Kottayam, Cochin, etc also registered. About 60% of total applications were from these smaller towns in India.
