There has been a significant rise in vehicles on Indian roads which is causing tremendous chaos on roads and thereby escalating pollution levels in cities. Due to continuous increase in pollution levels the ecological balance of the country is facing a number of problems. In order to make sure that pollution limits are under control, vehicles need to be subjected to emission tests to confirm levels of pollutants being emitted into the atmosphere.

It is vital for drivers to possess a ‘pollution under control’ certificate while commuting on Indian roads. Failure to produce a PUC certificate once your vehicle has completed a year since being bought can attract a severe penalty. Continuous monitoring with help of these PUC tests will enable one to check their vehicle for pollutants like CO2, hydrocarbons and other elements which are harmful to the environment.

These tests will help regulate level of pollutants being emitted into the atmosphere and thereby keep them within permissible limits. Centers need to be upgraded and opened at locations to facilitate such screening and help reduce emissions. Corruption within these centers needs to be eradicated so as to provide a foolproof way for one to check their vehicles with ease.
