Renault KWID Concept car unveiled at 2014 Auto Expo
Renault KWID Concept Car, designed by an international team along with Renault Design India, for international markets was unveiled at 2014 Auto Expo in Greater Noida. This is the first concept car from Renault to be unveiled outside Europe, which highlights the company’s growing commitment to new markets.
Renault KWID concept car is robust, features novel design aspects and state of the art technology ideally suited for younger and more fun loving buyers. The new concept car is covered by ‘Explore’ petal of Renault’s lifecycle based design strategy and is led by a Flying Companion, the first of its kind in the auto kingdom which takes off from the rotating rear section of KWID roof.
This Flying Companion can be operated in either of two modes – in automatic mode using pre-programmed flying sequence and GPS location or in manual mode which allows the Flying Companion to be controlled from within the vehicle confines. The Flying Companion can be used for a host of facilities and driver conveniences, which including scouting traffic, taking landscape pictures and detecting obstacles on the road ahead.
Renault KWID comes in with a tough exterior design accentuated by protective guards and chunky wings. It also sports a two wheel drive transmission though it exudes the possibilities of an off-road car. Interiors are comfortable and well designed, ideally suited for Indian driving conditions. Its interiors can occupy upto 5 adults and sports rear air conditioning with controls on driver seat backs while dashboard is an integrated tablet for commanding the navigation of Flying Companion.
The new KWID concept car from Renault is powered by 1.2 liter petrol mated to dual clutch technology while it is also ZE compliant for batteries for electric use and a charging plug point behind the Renault logo.
