2014 Mercedes Benz S Class: All you need to know and see before it’s launch
The official launch of 2014 Mercedes Benz S Class is less than two days away. But, before the launch takes place, details have been revealed via brochure which was leaked online last week, while the car itself was revealed via scaled model. Mercedes Benz too have played their part, as they released an official teaser video.
Apart from this, a scaled model of the new S Class has also been revealed which gives a clear look of what the new S Class will look like (credit to WorldCarFans). It portrays a chiseled exterior body along with attractive interior designs.
From the brochure, it seems that the new Mercedes Benz S Class sits on the same wheelbase measuring 3,035 mm while the vehicle itself measures 5,116 mm long, 1,899 mm wide, and 1,496 mm tall which means that the W222 is 28mm wider, 25mm lower and 20mm longer than the W221 currently available.
Technology on board the upcoming S Class is in the form of two 12.3 inch TFT screens on its instrument panel while a state of the art climate control system permits active perfuming and filtering of cabin air. The vehicle will also sport heated arm rests.
Engine specifications will include the S350 fitted with a 3.0 liter V6 turbo diesel engine capable of 258 ps power while the S500 will sport a 4.7 liter turbocharged V8 gasoline engine offering 455 ps power. The S400 hybrid will have a 3.5 liter gasoline V6 along with an electric motor capable of 306 ps power.
