While the 2013 Ford EcoSport compact SUV launch in India is awaited, the automaker is working on other aspects of growth. Strengthening its presence in Sikkim, Ford opened its first ever dealership outlet in capital Gangtok. Apart from Sikkim Ford also launched a new outlet in Himmatnagar, Gujarat. Through this new outlet, Ford will now be able to reach to a number of customers in the eastern region of India.
The new showroom/outlet is spread over an area of 2500 sq feet. Its workshop is spread over 12000 sq feet and has been integrated with quality service bays so as to provide Ford customers with superior servicing and other maintenance jobs. To enable the workshop cater to needs of customers in a better way, all of the technicians and staff have been well trained to respond to customer queries and make customers feel at ease as soon as they step into this centre.
Ford currently has 260 sales and service outlets that are spread over 138 cities, 40% of which are solely meant for tier 2 and tier 3 cities. Ford will continue with its aggressive expansion plan and will hope to reach 500 sales outlets within the next five years.
