Renault has already stated that they are focused on their plans for the Indian auto industry. Being the second fastest growing auto industry in the world today, Renault does not want to take the Indian car market for granted.
The French car manufacturer has already launched Fluence sedan and Koleos SUV in India for a price of Rs 14.4 lakhs and Rs 22.99 lakhs respectively. Both these Renault vehicles have been launched in the mid to premium segment of the Indian auto industry.
In order to grow and bite a big enough chunk of the Indian auto industry, Renault needs to launch a small car as that is where the majority of buyers are. Renault Modus seems to be the perfect answer. Modus is available in international markets with both petrol and diesel engine options. India bound Modus is expected to get a 1.2L petrol and a 1.5L diesel engine.
