Tata Aria facelift caught on test in India – Launch this month?
2013 Tata Aria facelift was caught on test and is expected to make its way into Indian auto industry later this month. Tata Motors is losing market share in the country but have plans in place to regain their position in the top three by 2014. Redesigning of exisiting vehicles is on the cards, following a steady decline in sales.
Tata Motors has organized an event later this month, details of which are still a secret. At the event, new Tata cars are expected to be unveiled, and Aria facelift could be one of them. Tata Aria facelift was recently caught on test in India (by Power Drift), with smoked headlights. It also featured clear lens side blinkers and smoked outer glass while another image reveals revised tail lamp cluster with a chrome outline. The SUV will also come in with various other cosmetic modifications.
2013 Tata Aria was seen at Geneva Motor Show earlier. It possessed the same 2.2 liter Dicor diesel engine, but tuned to offer better output than the existing engine. It offers 155 PS power, higher power than the 140 PS offered on the current Tata Aria in markets. Torque is also enhanced from a present 320 Nm to 400 Nm while a 6 speed automatic gearbox is offered in addition to the manual transmission.
