In the domestic market, Toyota sold 12,010 units in June 2014 over 11,010 units in 2013 to register 9% sales growth. Toyota India launched its Etios Cross in early May to expand it’s Etios platform further. Toyota already offers Etios sedan and Etios Liva hatchback here. Etios Cross gets power from 2 petrol engines and 1 diesel engine and is available at a price of Rs. 5.76 – 7.40 lakhs (ex-sh Delhi).
The long selling 11th gen Toyota Corolla Altis sedan which was first shown at Delhi Auto Expo earlier in the year was launched at May end at a price of Rs. 11,99,000/- and Rs. 13,07,324/- ex sh Delhi, for petrol and diesel variants.
Newly launched Corolla Altis and Etios Cross uphold Toyota’s QDR – Quality, Durability and Reliability promise and have been received well. Toyota India sold 922 Corolla Altis units and 626 Etios Cross units in June. Bookings received for Etios Cross are above 5,400, and more than 3,000 for Corolla Altis. Etios Cross waiting period is is more than 3 months and for Corolla Altis, it’s about 2 months.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor is working towards reducing waiting period. Mr. N Raja, Director and Senior Vice – President, Sales and Marketing welcomed Union Government’s decision to extend excise duty concession, and hopes the impetus fuels improvement in Indian auto industry market sentiment.
