Toyota Motor India reports 20.35% sales decline in April 2014

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) reports 8,328 vehicles sold in in April 2014 compared to 10,456 units in April 2013 equating to 20.35% sales decline. Toyota exported 766 units of Etios from India last month. In the domestic market, Toyota sold 7,562 units in April 2014 when compared to 9,007 units in Apr 2013.

We thank our customers for their support and understanding during this difficult time. It is our endeavor to make the deliveries of vehicles on a timely basis.

In March 2014, Toyota Kirloskar Motor sold 9,160 units in Mar 2014 compared to 21,143 units in Mar 2013. Exports stood at 954 units of Etios series. In India, TKM sold 8,206 units in Mar 2014 as compared to 19,452 units in Mar 2013.

The shortfall was in part due to limited operations from March 18, 2014 that were possible through non – unionized team members, majority of whom are supervisors. The 5 week stand off ended towards the end of April, 2014.
