TVS Draken 250cc concept presented at 2014 Auto Expo
TVS Draken 250cc street fighter has been unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo. Getting its name from the 100 headed dragon in Greek mythology, the TVS Draken takes on an aggressive stance and dons a fearful imagery to live upto its namesake.
TVS Draken receives a 250cc, 4 valve DOHC engine mated to a six speed gearbox. The engine can produce 38.5 hp peak power at 12000 rpm and 23 Nm torque at 9500 rpm, while mileage is pegged at 33.3 kmpl. Draken weighs a total of 134 kgs and comes fitted with a fuel tank of 10 liter capacity. It has a wheelbase of 1340 mm and a ground clearance of 170 mm.
It was noted that exhaust is placed under the engine and coming out ahead of the front brake lever which the company calls a high performance reverse free flow exhaust system. Draken does not come in with a windshield at the Auto Expo but if it goes into production, a wind shield may be incorporated into its design.
Draken is a single seater with a sharp tail end. It was viewed in a matte white body color with a dull gold frame. It looks menacing from every angle while the bike also gets a full function active matrix digital speedometer, offset monoshock, reverse free flow exhaust and race ergonomics. This what is shown here, is just a concept, and is developed by TVS, without any input from BMW.
