Chennai based, TVS Motors has revealed that they are in talks with BMW¬†motorbike division – BMW Motorrad, to enter into a long term technology partnership agreement. TVS-BMW partnership will see sharing of technology. More details should be revealed and implemented by the end of this fiscal. Once implemented, TVS Motors will have access to technology for its range of future high end motorcycles.
TVS Motors also recently launched their Phoenix 125cc in the executive bike segment which is priced between Rs.49,000 for the drum brake version to Rs.52,000 for the disc brake variant (ex-showroom Delhi).¬† TVS Motors plans to sell around 20,000 units of Phoenix 125 per annum, while they will also be commencing exports of this model by February 2013. TVS Motors also sells a range of motorcycles starting from the entry level TVS Sport in the 100cc segment to the TVS Apache in the 180cc segment.
During November, the company sold a total of 166,783 units, down 4% as compared to 172,829 units in November 2011. Domestic sales dipped marginally from 150,056 units in November 2012 from 150,406 units in November 2011. For more information, scroll down.

Three Wheeler sales up 87%; Motorcycles grow 5%
TVS Motor Company recorded excellent retail sales in November 2012 with domestic sales retailing around 185,000 two wheelers, a growth of around 19% over the same month last year. This has resulted in significant reduction of stocks at the dealer level. During the month of November 2012, the company’s total sales stood at 171,837 units against 175,535 units registered in November 2011.
The company registered total two wheeler sales of 166,783 units in November 2012 against 172,829 units recorded in November 2011. Domestic sales stood at 150,056 units in the month of November 2012 against 150,406 units of November 2011.
The company’s motorcycle sales grew by 5% with sales of 65,494 motorcycle units in November 2012, against 62,608 units in November 2011. Scooters registered sales of 37,470 units in November 2012 against 44,301 units in the same month of the previous year.
The company’s total exports for the month of November 2012 stood at 20,080 units against 24,271 units in the same month of the previous year. Two wheeler exports reported for the month of November 2012 was 16,727 units in comparison with 22,423 units in November 2011.
The company witnessed a substantial increase in the three wheeler segment with sales growing by 87% from 2,706 units in November 2011 to 5,054 units November 2012.

TVS Phoenix 125 is equipped with novel features that are usually seen in cars. For the first time in this segment, features such as a fully digital speedometer, backlit in premium amber; a digital fuel gauge, a low battery reminder, a trip meter, service reminder, soft texture grips and soft touch switchgear have been provided. For the first time in India, TVS Phoenix offers car like hazard lamps to enhance added safety for the rider.
Riding comfort of TVS Phoenix 125 has been maximized by way of five-step adjustable ‘series spring’ suspension, high response damper and ergonomically positioned handle bar for superior riding control.
Engineered to magnify the joy of riding, TVS Phoenix 125 is equipped with EcoThrust technology: dynamic tuning which regulates the flow of petrol to deliver optimum combination of power and fuel economy.
