Volkswagen’s Prof. Martin Winterkorn receives honorary doctorate in recognition of “innovation- and technology-driven focus

During celebrations to mark the tenth anniversary of TUM School of management, president of TUM Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Herrmann presented the honorary doctorate to Prof. Martin Winterkorn in recognition of his services to the VW group where innovation and technology was concerned. Outstanding and economic and technical achievements incorporated by Winterkorn were lauded by one and all.

Winterkorn was a student of metallurgy and metal physics at the University of Stuttgart and obtained his Ph.D for metal research and physics at the Max- Planck institute. Prior to his appointment as CEO of VW he worked at Audi in capacity of CEO of the Board of management.
