Volkswagen Polo facelift bookings open in India: New accessories on offer
Almost ready for launch in India, the Volkswagen Polo facelift bookings have officially begun for the 1.5l diesel variant. First unveiled earlier this year, Polo facelift has already been spotted testing in India. It will arrive in showrooms by second week of July, while bookings have now begun for an advance of Rs 50,000. Launch of Polo facelift will take place by the third week of July. The new accessories listed above, are also expected to be launched in India along side the new Polo.
Facelifted Polo will replace the existing range of Polo on offer, including the GT variants. As of now, VW dealers across India are trying to get rid of the older Polo variants. As per a dealer in Chennai, the only reason they are yet to commence bookings of the new Polo is because they still have stock of the old one remaining with them. Yesterday, Volkswagen India announced up to Rs 75,000 discounts on older Polo.
Speaking about the new Polo, it will not only come with revised exteriors and interiors, but also on offer is a locally made 1.5l diesel engine. This will replace the 1.6l diesel on offer the existing variant. By offering 1.5l diesel, VW will save 4% excise duty, and passing on the benefit to customer, it will be priced more affordable.
The new 1.5l is a four cylinder mill. To be offered in two tunes, 89 hp and 109 hp, this will replace the 1.2l three cylinder and the 1.6l four cylinder in the existing variants. For petrol, it will be the same 1.2l three cylinder generating 74 hp and 1.2l TSI generating 103 hp.
