Yamaha formally heralded its march into the scooter segment with the unveiling of the stylish gearless scooter RAY by Deepika Padukone in Hyderabad. Through the addition of this scooter model Yamaha hopes to capitalize on about 20% of the market by the year 2016. With a number of college going students and working women looking to buy a sleek and compact transportation module, Yamaha decided to provide these individuals with a new and stylish scooter model, the RAY.

This model has the earmarks of a great scooter for one and all. It is powered by an air-cooled 4 stroke 113 cc engine with continuous variable transmission technology allowing for greater reliability.
