Besides its weight, improvements will be seen in its engine, enhanced aerodynamics and efficiency levels. CO2 emissions are reduced by 13.9%. Golf BlueMotion TDI will emit just 85g/km of CO2. 2013 VW Golf will now measure 5.6 cms more than current model, will be 1.3cms wider and 2.8 cms lower while its wheelbase will be 5.9cms longer as well which ensures better cabin and boot space.

Though official unveiling is still a few days away, it is confirmed that VW Golf base model will have a 1.2 liter TSI petrol engine while a 1.4 liter TSI petrol with cylinder deactivation technology which possesses fuel saving capacity is also in the offing. Volkswagen will be officially launching the 2013 Golf at the 2012 Paris Motor Show later next month while sales are expected to commence only by late 2012 and deliveries in early 2013.
