2014 Ford Fiesta’s premium quotient is raised through a redesigned exterior and enhanced interior. On the in car tech front, SYNC with Ford AppLink voice control over smartphone apps lets drivers safely connect when on road. Available in Ambiente, Trend and Titanium trims, power comes from a 1.5 L Duratorq diesel engine to attain fuel efficiency of 25.01 Km/L (ARAI certified).
Showcased at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo earlier this year, Ford Fiesta facelift test drive was completed just in time for launch. The engine comes without any mechanical changes, delivering 91 PS and 204 Nm torque. The improvement in mileage is due to the extensive wind tunnel tests performed by Ford. This led to changes in design, reducing drag by 3%.
New Fiesta competes with the existing Hyundai Verna and Honda City, which are the leaders in the segment currently. In an interaction with Rush Lane, Ford India said that their “aim is not to match the sales of their rivals, but to offer a car which has been designed for the enthusiast driver, which the segment is yet to see.”
