2014 Toyota Corolla sedan was showcased at the Auto Expo in February and will be offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. These engine options will be carried over from its earlier counterpart with the petrol engine in the form of a 1.8 litre four cylinder engine with Dual VVT-I producing 140 ps power at 6,400 rpm and mated to a 6 speed manual or CVT automatic gearbox. This petrol engine will be offered on five trim levels of J, G, G CVT, GL and VL.
The diesel engine will be a 1.4 litre four cylinder engine producing 88.4 ps power at 3,800 rpm and mated to a 6 speed manual transmission. The four trims J, J(S), G and GL will receive diesel engines. Features on board the new Toyota Corolla will include reclining seats, brake assist and rear foglights while top end variants will receive automatic wipers, LED headlights, 7” multimedia system, reverse camera and 16” alloy wheels.
Toyota Etios Cross is also slated for launch in May 2014 and will receive some modifications to its exterior as compared to its current model. These will include new front and rear bumpers, roof rails and diamond cut alloy wheels. Three engine options are expected with the new Etios Cross and include a 1.2 litre four cylinder petrol engine with 80 ps power and 104 Nm torque, a 1.5 litre petrol producing 90 ps power and 132 Nm torque and a 1.4 litre diesel engine producing 68 ps power and 170 Nm torque. Each of these engines is mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox. Etios Cross is being offered in eight exterior colour options and opens for prebooking at Toyota Kirloskar dealerships.
