2015 Hyundai i20 will be more enhanced in size and dimensions as compared to the outgoing car, but will still continue to measure less than 4 meters in length. It will receive features such as ABS, airbags and alloy wheels along with climate control, keyless entry and steering mounted controls with Bluetooth connectivity. Safety features will include reverse camera, parking sensors and auto day /night interior mirror.
Once the new i20 is launched in India, Hyundai India can boast of three products in the compact segment to include the Grand i10, Xcent and 2015 i20. The i20 will be powered by a 1.2 liter petrol engine and 1.4 liter diesel engine with the petrol engine mated to a 5 speed manual or 4 speed automatic gearbox and the diesel engine to be mated to a 6 speed manual transmission. In European markets, the i20 will be powered by a range of engines similar to those seen on the current model to include 1.2 liter and 1.4 liter petrol and 1.1 liter and 1.4 liter CRDi diesel engines.
Hyundai is also slated to be working on a performance variant of the i20 under Hyundai’s new N Performance brand. The i20 is the most logical choice to receive N treatment, considering it already forms the basis of the automaker’s rally car.
