2016 Renault Koleos crossover spied testing, interiors revealed
2016 Koleos will ride on the Common Module Family platform, jointly developed by Renault and Nissan. This platform is designed to underpin a majority of new cars from Renault-Nissan over the next few years.
Interiors were noted to sport a new instrument cluster with both analogue and digital features while the dashboard with contrasting stitching also sported a new design. Buyers of the 2016 Koleos will be able to opt for either 6 speed manual transmission or dual clutch unit while all models will receive start/stop technology so as to keep fuel consumption at economical levels. Next gen Koleos will be offered in two and four wheel drive variants.
Exteriors were under heavy camouflage and hence not much of its design could be made out, though major updates in this are expected as the company is aware that it was design that was a weak point where the outgoing model was concerned. The 2016 Renault Koleos is expected to be longer and wider as compared to the current model.
The present Koleos was introduced in 2008 but failed to cause much of a stir in markets across the globe as it did not exude as much exclusivity or performance as one would expect from an SUV in its class. In India as well, the car failed to attract buyers, mostly due to its high price.
