Earlier this weekend at the Concorso d’Eleganza, Lake Como, Italy, Alfa Romeo displayed their all new sportscar 4C in cherry red metallic shade. Italian car maker, Alfa Romeo displayed the 4C sportscar at the Geneva Motor Show last year.
Powered by a 4 cylinder 1.7L engine generating 230 bhp, Alfa Romeo 4C is the lightest sportscar in the segment at 850 kgs. Acceleration from 0-100 kmph (0-62 mph) stands at 4.5 seconds while it can attain a top speed of 250 kmph.
Alfa Romeo is also rumored to launch two other variants of 4C, one of which will be even more powerful generating 300 bhp from its 1.8L mill. The other one will be a cheaper version which will have extensive use of aluminum instead of carbon fiber, taking the overall weight to 900 kgs.
Production of Alfa Romeo 4c is expected to begin from May 2013 at Maserati’s Modena plant. Alfa Romeo will be launching 4C in Europe first, probably before the end of 2013. US launch is expected to take place thereafter, making 4C the first 4 meter sportscar from Alfa Romeo to arrive in US. Price is expected to be in the range of $60,000 to $65,000.
