Atulya Sharma will be based out of Apollo Tyres’Corporate Office in Gurgaon, and will oversee legal and corporate secretarial functions. Neeraj Kanwar, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Apollo Tyres Ltd says the growing organisation would need the expertise of Atulya to help manage legal risks, litigations and regulatory actions related to the organisation. His extensive experience spanning 22 years working with different organisations and cultures globally is an added advantage.
Atulya’s previous assignment was with Deutsche Bank as Head of Legal, Indian Subcontinent and Mauritius. He was responsible for all legal support in South Asia including Global Markets, Capital Markets Transactional Banking, New Funds and Infrastructure/ Project Finance related transactions. He joined DB in February 2007, and resigned at the end of 2014.
Prior to that, Atulya has worked with IFC (World Bank Group), Dua Associates and IDFC Group. Atulya reports to Neeraj Kanwar. He is a member of Bar Council of Delhi and Bar Association, Supreme Court of India. Apollo Tyres’ recent appointments also include Raj Banerji as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Sunam Sarkar has been redesignated as President, and Chief Business Officer.
Apollo Tyres is upgrading its Oragadam and and Kalamasser manufacturing facilities to increase output. $340 (INR 2,050 crores) investment has been sanctioned for its Indian plants.
