BMW 3 Series long wheelbase to be unveiled at Beijing Motor Show 2012 (Photos)
BMW has confirmed that they will be showcasing their new BMW 3 Series long wheelbase at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show as it opens its doors on April 23rd, 2012. The 3 Series long wheelbase developed in company headquarters in Germany will be produced at the BMW Shenyang production plant.
It will have 4.3 inch longer wheelbase and will be offered on three power trains, a 184 hp turbocharged 2.0 liter four cylinder, a 240 hp 2.8 liter and a 300 hp turbo 3.0 liter six cylinder. All three will have the Li suffix as seen in the 7 Series long wheelbase so you will see the new 3 Series being named as 320Li, 328Li and 335Li while all models will be fitted with a powerful and highly efficient engine featuring BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology.
All three models will have an extended wheelbase by 11 cms and will offer comfortable seating specially in its rear passenger area thus meeting the demands of their Chinese customers. BMW will also be displaying the 3 Series sedan with a normal wheelbase and full hybrid model ActiveHybrid 3 at the Beijing Auto Show.
