BMW Motorrad have revealed their first lightweight motorcycle which will be produced in alliance with TVS Motor Company in India. The BMW G310R is a small capacity bike which will also go on show in India at the upcoming Auto Expo 2016.
BMW G310R will be powered by a 313cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled engine offering 34 bhp peak power at 9,000 rpm and 28 Nm peak torque at 7,500 rpm mated to a 6 speed gearbox.
BMW G310R will receive 5 spoke wheels, minimal headlight fairing and sleek body panels. Its 11 liter fuel tank will sport a racy ‘R’ graphic while digital instrumentation will see the inclusion of speedometer, tachometer, odometer, engine temperature, fuel readings and average fuel consumption besides average speed and time.
Comfortable ride position, slim tail fairing and rear mudguard outstretched over the rear wheel are a part of the BMW G310R makeup while it sits on a wheelbase measuring 1374mm and weighs a total of 158.5 kgs. BMW confirms a top speed of 144 kmph while fuel efficiency stands at 36.05 kmpl. The bike sports a rather large radiator ensuring that engine performance is optimum even while running in hot weather conditions.
