BMW X7 iPerformance concept is ready for Frankfurt debut
The concept previews BMW's new flagship X model.
Images of the BMW X7 iPerformance, essentially a near-production ready concept which previews the brand’s new flagship SUV, have emerged online. The concept will attend the Frankfurt Motor Show 2017 which is set to commence on 12th of this month.
The Mercedes GLS rival sports a massive chrome finished kidney grille whose prominence is further enhanced by slender LED headlamps. Vertical bumper air intakes with metallic inserts complete the front end design. We expect the production version to feature a toned down version of these design elements, especially the grille.
The imposing dimensions are apparent in profile which has an almost boxy design. Noteworthy features include flush mounted door handles, chrome greenhouse frame, massive alloy wheels, and a chrome insert which emanates from fender gill and runs all the way towards the rear bumper. The front fender houses what looks like a charging port, hinting at a hybrid powertrain.
The rear fascia features quintessential BMW ‘L’ shaped LED taillights which are complemented by bumper air vents. The modern interior features fresh design complete with state-of-the-art connectivity and entertainment systems.
The BMW X7 iPerformance concept is expected to be powered by a 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine which is assisted by electric motors. More details about the powertrain will be revealed during its world premiere next week.
