2014 Chevrolet SS revealed at Daytona International Speedway


2014 Holden Commodore VF was portrayed few days back as the most technologically advanced car ever created in Australia. Its American counterpart, the new Chevrolet SS was finally unveiled in the US at a special ceremony held at Daytona International Speedway.

2014 Chevrolet SS V8 revealed (1)Chevrolet is very proud of its design and engineering prowess, not to leave out advanced technology which is the highlight of this new vehicle which is scheduled to go on sale by te 4th quarter this year. Powered by the 6.2L V8, 2014 SS will be able to churn out 415 hp and 415 lb-ft Nm torque. Top speed is yet to be revealed, but 0-60 mph time is close to 5 seconds. Price will be revealed closer to launch dates.

2014 Chevrolet SS will be seen in lightweight aluminum panels which will contribute to higher level of fuel efficiency. Its enhanced aerodynamics also contributes to better fuel management. 2014 Chevrolet SS’s technological features will include Auto Park Assist, MyLink infotainment system and keyless entry and start. Reverse Traffic Alert System, Blind Spot Alert, Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning and Head Up Display, 19″ alloys, 335 mm Brembo brakes, 50/50 weight distribution and much more. The company has also paid special attention to its interiors offering premium comforts, conveniences and styling.

Mark Reuss, President, GM N America, said,  “The Chevrolet brand was largely built on the strength of rear-drive performance sedans, yet it’s been 17 years since we offered one. The all-new SS fills that void and fills it better than any other vehicle in the brand’s rich history.”

David Leone, Executive engineer, GM Global programs, said, “The perfect weight balance and lower center of gravity were a big part of that goal because they enabled the team to tune for a more comfortable highway ride without sacrificing handling or driver confidence while cornering at the limits.”
