City powers Honda Cars India 188% sales growth: HCIL sells 15714 cars in January 2014


Honda City launch on 7th January has reaped in immediate benefits with 7184 units sold in a little over 3 weeks. In comparison, 2898 City units were sold in January 2013. Honda Cars India Ltd.

(HCIL) reports its highest ever monthly sales here with 15714 units sold in January 2014. This equates to 188%, and the growth was quite certainly boosted by the new Honda City. In January 2013, HCIL company sold 5451 units.

2014-Honda-City-DieselHonda’s strong sales performance clearly represents strong growth over the past few months, which is significantly affected by demand for diesel cars in India. For January 2014, Honda sold 1015 Brio hatchbacks, 7398 Amaze sedans, 7184 City sedans, and 117 CRV’s. Domestic sales stand 15714 units, and exports at 88 units. In all, sales for the month stood at 15802 units.
