Singhania finished 3rd in his category, Coppa Shell in Race 1 and Race 2, having qualified in 4th and 3rd respectively. Ferrari Challenge Europe Championship 2015 is endorsed by Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI).
Gautam Singhania says it’s a proud moment to secure a double podium finish at the first race of Ferrari Challenge Europe Championship 2015 season. In Race 2, Erich Prinoth snatched the lead from Thomas Loefflad (StileF Squadra Corse). Kessel Racing’s Singhania held on to his qualifying position. Prinoth took victory with a 1’074 lead over Loefflad and 9’600 over Singhania.
Coppa Shell category delivered on drama in Race 1 lap 1 with Ericha Prinoth (Ineco – Mp Racing) using his pole position effectively to maintain lead sition, managed to keep his lead ahead of Belgian Jacques Duvyer, while Singhania, the only Indian driver almost immediately moved up into third place. 2014 Coppa Gentlemen winner Fons Scheltema took a hit as another driver made contact with him. Rick Lovat spun at the Variante della Roggia and retired. Prinoth and both Kessel Racing drivers quickly pulled away from the rest of the field along with Thomas Lindroth (Baron Service) and Eric Cheung (AF Corse).
Drama towards race end saw Prinoth held up by a slower car on his path. Sensing an opportunity, Duyver, who had gotten out of the lsat corner fastest, went flat out on the straight, going on to win with a 1’624 lead over Prinoth and a 6’118 seconds over Singhania. That was the fastest lap of the race.
Ferrari Challenge Europe Championship 2015 season comprises of 15 races.
