Force Motors plans new manufacturing plant in Chakan, near Pune

Force Motors is planning to manufacture powertrain components including engines, gearboxes and axles at a new facility it is going to build in Chakan. The company’s board has approved establishment of a new plant just recently, as per a filing to BSE. The Pune-based company already owns the land where the new factory will be built, with annual capacity of 50,000 sets.

Force Motors is already a supplier of engines to Mercedes Benz India, now BMW is joining the list.
This is part of the firm’s plan revealed last year, to invest around Rs. 1,000 crore over four years on various operations including new product development and establishing a new facility for assembling BMW engines.

Force Motors currently has two plans in the country, the Pune production house churns out small commercial vehicles and tractors, while the manufacturing base in Pithampur (Madhya Pradesh) delivers SUVs, MUVs and other commercial vehicles.
