Ford EcoBoost 1.0L engine to power new Tourneo Connect in Europe

Ford has revealed their plans to offer new Tourneo Connect minivan with an all new engine option, in the form of their highly acclaimed and award winning 1.0L EcoBoost three cylinder engine. It is the 1.0L EcoBoost in new Ford Tourneo Connect offering 100 hp (downtuned from 125 PS which is offered in India with EcoSport compact SUV) that is expected to make it a best seller due to its high fuel efficiency of 5.6 liters per 100 kms (17.85 kmpl) and lower levels of auto emission which stands at 129 g/km. The engine also boasts of auto start/stop facilities, active grille shutter and smart regenerative charging which along with promises of elevated performance makes the new Tourneo Connect ideally suited for a family vehicle.

About launching this car in India, Ford is yet to state anything officially. But judging by the looks and engine options, Tourneo minivan might be considered as an option for India. Demand for cars in the minivan segment is on the rise. Recent launches include, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy, and Nissan Evalia. Ford India will surely be keeping a keen eye on this growing segment.
