When we met Ford India officials at the drive, they confirmed that the new Figo Aspire will be launched in India by early August 2015. Today, the company has revealed that the bookings of their new compact sedan will open from 27th July 2015. Every Ford dealer in India, will start accepting bookings from 27th this month for an advance payment of Rs 30,000 (which is 100% refundable in case you want to cancel the booking at any stage).
Highlights on board the new Ford Figo Aspire is its newly designed exterior, premium interiors, and tech-laden features. The sedan comes with many segment-first features. This includes six airbags, dual clutch automatic transmission option for petrol variant, most powerful diesel engine in its class, MyFord Dock, and MyKey.
Two petrol engine options will be on offer, and one diesel engine. These are in the form of 1.2l and 1.5l petrol; and a 1.5l diesel. Engine output of the 1.2l TiVCT unit is rated at 88 PS and 112 Nm; 1.5L TiVCT is rated at 112 PS and 136 Nm, while the diesel 1.5 TDCi motor is rated at 100 PS and 215 Nm.
Transmission options include 5 speed MT on board the 1.2l TiVCT and 1.5l TDCi; while the 1.5l TiVCT gets a six speed dual clutch automatic gearbox. Mileage claimed by petrol 1.2l is 18..2 kmpl; while the diesel 1.5 TDCi delivers 25.8 kmpl. Mileage of the petrol automatic variant is yet to be revealed.
Ford India has not shared the official launch date of Figo Aspire, but considering that bookings have now opened, launch should be near. Once launched, Figo Aspire will compete with the likes of Maruti DZire, Honda Amaze, Tata Zest and Hyundai Xcent.
